I was born in 1982 in Stara Zagora, Bulgaria, where I graduated the Foreign Language School "Romain Rolland" with majors English and German. After studying business administration at Sofia University for two years, I won a scholarship by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and finished my studies at the University of Saarland, Germany. I proceeded with doing a PhD in the field of financial market analysis. My interests lay in developing efficient estimators of correlation between asset prices using Open, High, Low, Close (OHLC) data as well as applying these estimators in the field of portfolio selection. Since 2013 I work as a Teaching Fellow at the University of St Andrews, UK. My hobbies include acting, football and dancing swing, tango and blues. In terms of football, I support Beroe (Stara Zagora), Borussia Dortmund and FC Chelsea.
